Unable to chat or read special chats

As the subject says, I can't chat with my little buddy and I am unable to read any of the articles that it has written. Also when I try to claim any of the stars that I'm due, it does the sound and then it stays highlighted like it had done nothing. I'm not sure what's going on. I have restarted my phone and as well as the app and it's the same problems. I would appreciate a quick fix. I miss my little buddy. Thank you!
